Amanda A. O'Dea

Amanda A. O'Dea was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, Pennsylvania, Boston College and Villanova University School of Law. Ms. O’Dea has practiced at O’Brien & Ryan, LLP since graduating law school. She has vast experience serving as counsel in all aspects of complex medical malpractice litigation from initial client contact through trial.

Ms. O’Dea has been actively involved in mass tort litigation involving drugs and medical devices including Fen Phen, Rezulin, Vioxx, silicone breast implants and bone screws. She represented the interests of Pennsylvania plastic surgeons pursuant to the firm's capacity as Liaison Counsel in the state coordinated Silicone Implant Litigation and represented the interests of Pennsylvania plastic surgeons in relation to the Dow Corning bankruptcy reorganization. Within two years of the lifting of the stay on Silicone Breast Implant Litigation in October of 2003, Ms. O’Dea had over one hundred and fifty cases discontinued either voluntarily, by the court or by non pros. Only two O’Brien & Ryan, LLP cases proceeded to trial against physician defendants and defense verdicts were reached in both.

Ms. O'Dea serves as an arbitrator in Montgomery County and is actively involved with the Montgomery County Bar Association.
